During panel discussions and networking sessions, representatives of the department and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies held a series of productive meetings with IT industry leaders and high-tech manufacturing companies. The main focus of the dialogue was the implementation of modern automation systems, secure telecommunications solutions, secure infrastructure management technologies, and alternative energy sources. Preliminary agreements were reached regarding joint research initiatives, the creation of joint applied research projects, and the involvement of IT sector specialists in the practical training of the faculty’s students.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting took place at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech). During the official discussions, special attention was paid to the specifics of organizing the modern educational process, innovative approaches to student admission and pre-university preparation. A separate and extremely important vector of the dialogue was the discussion of the specifics of recruitment and comprehensive support for students from Ukraine who seek to obtain a high-quality European education in the field of digital technologies.

An important step for the development of the railway direction of our university was a visit to TTK University of Applied Sciences. Representatives of both institutions discussed in detail the features of training specialists in the specialty «Railway Transport». Colleagues exchanged practical experience in adapting curricula to the requirements of the modern labor market, in particular in the context of European integration and transition to 1435 mm gauge standards.

In addition to the academic component, the visit had a deep practical focus. The Dean of UkrDUZT visited leading enterprises of the Estonian railway industry, among which the international company Mipro occupies a special place. This developer is a recognized leader in the field of creating systems for signaling, centralization, automatic blocking and train traffic management on the railways of Finland and Estonia. During the meeting, experts discussed the implementation of the latest digital technologies for traffic safety, which opens up wide prospects for integrating real industrial cases into the educational process of training future engineers of our university.

The results of this visit lay a solid foundation for signing new agreements on international mobility, joint scientific research and modernization of UkrDUZT educational programs in accordance with the best European standards.

From 6 to 9 January, career guidance meetings were held at metro schools and school bomb shelters in Kharkiv and Dergachi, with the participation of the IICT, NCSGO, Economics, PC and PR Centre faculties.

During the event, participants were told about the university, faculties and educational opportunities, interactive activities and quizzes were held, and promotional materials were distributed.

The speech by the dean of the ICT faculty was of particular interest, sparking a lively discussion about the prospects for the development of the IT industry and future career opportunities.

The event was opened by the dean of the faculty, Serhii Zmii, who emphasised the importance of innovation in the railway industry and IT sector. At the plenary session, young researchers presented their work on automation, artificial intelligence, energy-efficient solutions and digital technologies.

The conference was divided into three sections:

Automation and computer remote control,

Specialised computer systems,

Transport communications.

Participants discussed the implementation of neural networks in infrastructure diagnostics, the development of 5G-R, transport process modelling, cyber security issues and intelligent control systems. The reports were distinguished by their relevance and practical focus.

The event confirmed the high level of training of the applicants and their readiness to work with advanced technologies that are shaping the future of the transport and IT industries.

The educational program “Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics” has received conditional accreditation!

We are pleased to announce that the educational and professional program “Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics” in the specialty 174 “Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics” of the second (master’s) level at the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport (UkrDUT) has successfully passed accreditation!

The corresponding certificate of conditional (deferred) accreditation, issued by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, confirms the high level of training of specialists under this program. Certificate No. 12854 was issued on May 28, 2025, and is valid until May 28, 2026.

This important achievement was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the department staff and, in particular, the guarantor of the educational program, O.M. Ananieva. Her dedication and professionalism played a key role in ensuring the quality of the educational process and successful accreditation.

UkrDUT (identification code 01116472) continues to confirm its status as a leading higher education institution that trains highly qualified specialists for the needs of modern Ukraine. We are proud of our achievements and strive to maintain a high level of education.

The participation was a great opportunity for the teachers to share their knowledge with a wide audience, and also highlighted the high scientific level of the department and its active role in promoting modern energy and energy efficiency technologies among the community.

Students, graduates and teachers of the Department of Transport Communications took part in the broadcast of Nova Line Radio, where they made a number of interesting reports. The topics included topical issues of cybersecurity, the role of artificial intelligence in electronic communications, the development of passive optical networks and the prospects for fifth-generation cellular communications.

Participation in this format was a great opportunity for young people to demonstrate their knowledge and once again demonstrated the high scientific level of the department and its significant involvement in the promotion of the latest communication technologies.

The award was presented on behalf of the Mayor of Kharkiv for her significant contribution to the development of science, training of young specialists and active social activities. Elena Ananieva is a well-known scientist whose research has been recognised not only in Ukraine but also abroad. Her work has become the basis for new scientific directions and has been applied in various fields.

In her speech during the ceremony, Olena thanked her colleagues, students and family for their support and stressed that achievements in science are always the result of collective work. She also stressed the importance of supporting women in science, as their contribution is an integral part of the development of modern society.
