EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “WAGONS AND WAGON ECONOMY”
Students studying in the educational program “Wagons and wagon economy” master one of the main professions of transport, which provides the process of transportation of serviceable and reliable rolling stock.
The purpose of the program is to acquire knowledge and skills in general, fundamental and special disciplines to provide opportunities for the creation and operation of cars of main and industrial transport (both freight and passenger); in the humanities and socio-economic disciplines – to the extent necessary to solve socio-professional problems.
The program is addressed to applicants interested in gaining knowledge in the field of wagon building and wagon economy. The program will be interesting for those who plan to connect their future with the design, manufacture, repair, maintenance and operation of modern passenger and freight cars; for those who want to master one of the most important and classic professions of railway transport – a mechanical engineer in non-traction rolling stock.
This is especially relevant at the present time, when the territory of independent Ukraine will be laid links of three international transport corridors Europe-Asia. Therefore, it is quite clear that these areas will successfully operate passenger and freight high-speed rolling stock in Western European and Asian countries, and will significantly increase the demand for specialists in our field.
During training in this program:
– structural and operational features of cars and containers, the theory of design and calculations of cars on durability, methods of maintenance of reliability of knots and details of cars are studied;
– dynamic processes at oscillating motion of rolling stock are studied;

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “CARS AND TRANSPORT ENGINEERING”
“Transport engineering” is the application of technology and scientific principles to the design, operation and logistics management of facilities for any mode of transport to ensure safe, efficient, fast, comfortable, convenient, economical and environmentally safe movement of passengers and goods. Transport engineering is widely used in all modes of transport, in particular, rail and others.
The purpose of training in the program “Wagons and Transport Engineering” is to gain knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of car building and methods of design, development, analysis and operation of vehicles and their components.
The program is addressed to applicants who are interested in gaining knowledge in the field of cars and transport engineering.

The modern term “MECHATRONICS” (“Mechatronics”) got its name from a combination of the words MECHANICS and ELECTRONICS. Mechatronic systems are based on the idea of deep interaction of mechanical, electronic and computer components, which allows to build equipment with qualitatively new characteristics. Mechatronics is used in many industries, such as: industrial production, railway, automobile, aerospace, robotics, medical and sports equipment, household appliances, etc.
The purpose of the program is to gain knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of car building and methods of design, development, analysis and operation of mechatronic systems and their components.
Students master the methods of mathematical computer modeling of mechatronic systems and their components, learn to develop microprocessor control systems to automate production and program microcontrollers, master modern software for modeling rolling stock; learn to use computer methods of collecting and processing information used in wagon building and wagon economy.
The program is addressed to applicants who are interested in gaining knowledge in the field of mechatronics, production automation and car building.

The purpose of the program is to train specialists capable of complex solutions to complex problems of development and use of measuring equipment, use of information technology to process measurement results and automation of metrological activities in performing organizational and technical work, applied research in metrology and metrological activities.
The program is addressed to applicants who plan to link their future with the organization of inspection, repair and calibration of measuring instruments, development of metrological documentation, monitoring compliance of measurement methods and instruments with legal requirements, conducting metrological examinations.
Future specialists after mastering the program will have:
basic knowledge of humanitarian and economic orientation, which contributes to the formation of personality, ability to effective communication and are used in professional and social activities;

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “QUALITY, STANDARDIZATION AND CERTIFICATION” (master)
The purpose of training in the program is to train specialists capable of comprehensive solutions to scientific problems, development of tools, information and measuring equipment; development and practical implementation of standardization systems, conformity assessment, development, revision and harmonization of normative documents on standardization, conformity assessment, metrological support and quality management systems in the implementation of organizational and technical work of applied research in metrology and metrological activities.
The program is addressed to applicants who plan to work in the field of ensuring and assessing product quality, as well as monitoring the operating conditions of technical means (devices, equipment), enshrining in standards and regulations rules to achieve resource savings while maintaining production safety.
Future specialists after mastering the program will have:
knowledge and understanding of modern research methods, organization and planning of the experiment, computerized research methods and processing of measurement results;
knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts of measurement theory, applied in practice and in computer modeling of objects and phenomena;

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “QUALITY, STANDARDIZATION AND CERTIFICATION” (Doctor of Philosophy)
Opportunity to obtain the educational level of Doctor of Philosophy.
To conduct the educational process at a high level, the department has the necessary laboratory facilities: a passenger car-laboratory of modern construction, equipped with existing electrical equipment and air conditioning; laboratory of dynamics and strength of functional units of cars; comprehensive laboratory for testing the braking equipment of locomotives, wagons, electric trains and diesel trains; laboratory of automation of production processes in car repair production, electric power supply and more. Modern computer technology is widely used at all stages of learning.
Every year the best students of the department successfully take part in international scientific and technical conferences. So in 2011 at the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in rolling stock the first place was taken by Glushchenko Artem, in 2012 – Semenenko Anna.
To increase the practical training of students, the educational work at the branch of the department in the car section of Art. Kharkiv-Sorting and in the car depot Osnova. The department has a good scientific and methodological base for conducting the educational process at a high level, the teachers of the department for the last five years have issued about forty methodical instructions, lecture notes, textbooks and manuals. Disciplines that correspond to the modern development of science and technology in market conditions have appeared in the curricula. The transition to teaching subjects in the Ukrainian language has been made.
In the conditions of reforming the railways of Ukraine, the concept of implementation of diploma projects has been radically changed. The main direction of their subject was the restructuring of the car and passenger economy of Ukrzatsiznytsia.
The topics of course and diploma design are closely related to the needs of production. Every year the car service submits its proposals to the department with a request to develop certain issues of organization, technology of repair and automation of production.
During their studies, students undergo vocational training to obtain working specialties at the Vocational Training Center, where they receive working specialties: a car inspector, a locksmith for rolling stock repair, and a conductor of passenger cars. Dozens of our students successfully work in student groups every year. For conscientious work, they were repeatedly encouraged by the management of the Southern Railway, as well as other railways of Ukraine.
The received working specialties help not only to master a course of theoretical preparation better, but also to adapt better in collective after the beginning of labor activity.
The department has trained more than three thousand specialists and masters who work in various positions both in Ukraine and in the CIS countries. Training of highly qualified personnel is carried out, full-time and part-time postgraduate studies, doctoral studies are available.
Institutions and organizations that meet the training programs and actively cooperate with the graduating department: NPP “HARTRON-EXPRESS LTD”, car and passenger depots of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia, State Enterprise “Ukrainian Research Institute of Car Building”, PJSC Kryuznivtsi Carriage Company PJSC Azovmash and other research and design enterprises and design organizations related to transport and wagon economy.
