The university’s scientific activity is focused on key areas of scientific and technological progress in the transportation sector. The university offers collaboration in joint scientific research on railway transport, addressing issues related to scientific support, creation, operation, maintenance, and repair of infrastructure and rolling stock, with the aim of achieving a reduction in operational costs.
The university provides training for scientific and pedagogical staff through doctoral and postgraduate programs.
The university is the founder of several scientific publications included in the List of Specialized Publications of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, namely:
- Bulletin of Transport Economics and Industry
- Journal of Information and Control Systems in Railway Transport
- Collection of Scientific Papers of the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport
Research Department
The organization of inventive activity at the university is aimed at implementing a unified state policy in the field of science and intellectual property, i.e., ensuring legal protection and commercial implementation of research results.
In 2024, the university underwent state accreditation in the field of scientific activity and, based on the results, was included in the State Register of Scientific Institutions receiving state support.
