RESEARCH WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT

The main areas of research specialization of the Department are resource-saving station technologies, organization of operation of railway stations in international transport corridors, organization of customs control at railway stations, improvement of the design of marshalling devices, technological safety in the organization of train traffic, improvement of the design of elements of railway stations and junctions.

The latest research works performed at the department includes:

“Introduction of high-speed passenger train traffic on the Grebinka-Lozova section. Development of maintenance technology for access and shop tracks of railway and industrial enterprises of Lozova junction”;

“Development of a single technology for the operation of the access road of Donetskstal Metallurgical Plant CJSC and the Donetsk junction station of the state enterprise “Donetsk Railway”;

“Study and determination of the capacity of Sortuvalna-2 station of the access road of Interpipe NTZ JSC”. In recent years, the department has been actively working in the above areas.

In addition, together with specialists of Ukrzaliznytsia and Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after V. Lazaryan developed the draft DSTU “Guidelines for the Design of Stations and Junctions for 1520 mm Gauge Railway”, and in cooperation with specialists of the state enterprise “Kyivdiprotrans”, Ukrzaliznytsia and the Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan developed the Civil Engineering Standard “Rules and Regulations for Designing Marshalling Devices for the Ukrainian Railways”.
