SOCIOLOGICAL CLUB OF PHILOSOPHY AND SOCIOLOGY DEPARTMENT IN ONLINE FORMAT HELD A SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL SEMINAR ON THE TOPIC: “GENDER STEREOTYPES: PAST AND PRESENT”
Within the work of sociological club of the department on November 30, 2020 in scientific format a scientific-practical seminar was held on the topic: “Gender Stereotypes: Past and Present” (head – Ph.D., Associate Professor Danilyan V.O.).
The club was attended by lecturers of Philosophy and Sociology Department Associate Professor Danilyan V.O. and Associate Professor Tolstov I.V., as well as second-year students of the faculty “Management of Transportation Processes”.
The following issues were discussed:
– origins and functions of gender stereotypes
– main directions in the study of gender and gender stereotypes
– influence of gender stereotypes in media on the formation of gender-role socialization
– representation of femininity and masculinity in media
– consequences of constructing gender stereotypes of mass media.
