The management of the Center for the Department of RCUP-Kharkiv traffic conducted a preventive and explanatory meeting with students within the discipline “Train Safety and PTE”

On April 14, 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport hosted an online meeting of students of the educational and professional program “Organization of International Transportation” of the Department of Operating Management with the leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Center for Traffic Management (RCUP-Kharkiv) JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya”.
As part of the lecture on the discipline “Train and PTE traffic movement”, which took place with the participation of the Chief of RCUP-Kharkiv Dmitry Andriyovich Shvaryov and Deputy Chief of Olga Andreevna Nomochi, a preventive and explanatory work was conducted to prevent non-productive trauma among young people.
The event took place within the month of preventive and explanatory work among students of educational institutions (07.04.2025-07.05.2025), which was initiated by JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya” to raise awareness among student and student youth to prevent non-productive injuries on railway transport.
Dmitry Shvaryov outlined the situation with injuries among children: since the beginning of 2025, 6 children under the age of 16 have been injured, 4 of them were fatal. Especially dangerous are cases of electric shock – 4 children were injured, of which 2 were deadly. For comparison, only one similar case was recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.Olga Nomovcha drew the students’ attention to the most dangerous places on the railway, calling for maximum care when staying near tracks and rolling stock. Particular emphasis is on the danger of lifting on the roofs of wagons and electrified infrastructure.
Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of UERA Halyna Prokhorchenko, who lecture, supported the initiative of the RCUP-Kharkiv, indicating the importance of compliance with the citizens of the rules of safe crossing of the railway tracks and active dissemination of information among the student community and their minor relatives.
The acquired knowledge for students allowed to acquire additional programmatic results of study at the educational and professional program “Organization of international transportation”. Such measures are extremely important for the formation of a responsible attitude to safety on railway transport and the prevention of tragic railways in the future.
