Educational directions of the department.

Providing knowledge, skills and competencies in the field of automation and automation of technological processes to be able to further professionally perform functions in the field of development, design, production and operation of technical means of railway automation systems and computer control systems for trains, as well as any automated systems .

The department has 4 doctors of technical sciences, 4 professors, 3 academicians and 1 corresponding member of the Transport Academy of Ukraine, 11 associate professors and 3 senior lecturers.

The department is a graduate, in two specialties:

Many graduates of the department work effectively not only in Ukraine but also abroad in world-famous companies, such as Hitachi Rail STS, formerly Ansaldo Signaling and Transportation Systems or Ansaldo STS (USA, Italy), Bombardier Transportation (Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, etc. .), “Thales” (France, Azerbaijan, etc.), in management positions on the main and industrial railway transport, as well as in the subways of the CIS countries.

Among our graduates are the heads of the department of automation and telecommunications of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, heads of services and distances of signaling and communication of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk metros of Ukraine, directorates of transport of metallurgical plants, mine and coke plants. organizations for transportation of products by rail, heads of departments of design and survey institutes “Ukrzaliznychproekt”, “Kharkiv Promtransproekt”, “Hardiprotrans”, “Yuzhgiproruda”, “Diprokoks” (Kharkov), “Dipromez” (Kyiv Dnipro) (m. Kyiv) ; directors and chief specialists of Kharkiv research and production enterprises “Transport Technologies” (“Stalenergo”), “Zaliznychavtomatika”, “SATEP”, “Ipra-Soft”, “Hartron”, “UkrTransSignal”, “Promtransavtomatika”, “Bombardier Transportation”.

Students study in modern laboratories equipped with computer classrooms, equipment of such world companies as Bombardier Transportation, Schneider Electric, Iskratel, Watson telecom. SPE “Impulse” and others.

Scientific directions of the department – development of methodology and construction of hardware and software and hardware of railway automation systems and control of various technological objects.

The scientific and pedagogical school established at the department is the leading one in Ukraine, which provides training for the needs of the main, industrial railway transport and subways of highly qualified scientific, scientific-pedagogical and technical specialists.

The department provides guidance for the preparation of doctoral and candidate (PhD) dissertations.

Most of the teachers of the department are project managers and leading specialists in the development of microprocessor control systems for arrows and signals of railway stations, auto-locking and automatic crossing alarm systems, electronic systems for counting the axles of rolling stock to determine its location, microprocessor control systems. More than 100 microprocessor devices and systems have been implemented under the guidance of teachers of the Department of JSC. They are also the developers of major industry regulations, including national standards and several international documents of the Railway Cooperation Organization.
