Industry research laboratory of electric railcar rolling stock

Established in 2006 to fulfill Ukrzaliznytsia’s orders for scientific support for the creation and improvement of electric railcars, organization and conduct of its acceptance tests, strengthening competitiveness, as well as providing methodological assistance and development of practical recommendations, subject to the consent of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine (Order №82 of 06.09.206. UkrSART, letter № 4358/16 / 10-06 of 04.07.2006 of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, letter №CZT-12/372 of 19.04.2006 of Ukrzaliznytsia).

The main areas of activity of the IRL:

participation in the creation and testing of electric trains of direct and alternating current type;
development of regulatory documentation;
inspection, testing and assessment of technical condition;
energy and resource conservation.

Based on the results of scientific research, the following dissertations have been defended:

Kovalyov Oleksandr Yukhymovych, dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty 05.22.07 “Railway rolling stock and train traction”, on the topic: “Improvement of methods of calculations and testing of traction electric motors for new generation rolling stock”;
Vashchenko Yaroslav Vasilyovych, dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty 05.22.09 “Electric transport”, on the topic: “Improvement of technology for diagnosing the condition of traction asynchronous electric drive of rolling stock”

The IRL performs both economic contractual and initiative work.

in 2024, the initiative work was carried out: “Development of a method for selecting means of ensuring targeted braking of rolling stock”, state registration number: 0123U102327, accounting number 0224U033002.
