The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Technical Service of Machines is the only department in Ukraine that prepares bachelors , masters and doctors of philosophy in the field of knowledge 13 – mechanical engineering in the following specialties and educational programs:
The first (bachelor’s) level of higher education
Specialty 131 – applied mechanics in the educational program:
Organization of fuel and lubricants economy of enterprises
Specialty 133 – industrial engineering according to educational programs:
Construction, track, mining and oil and gas machines
The second (master’s) level of higher education
Specialty 133 – industrial engineering according to the educational program:
Lifting and transport, construction, road, track machines and equipment
The third (PhD) level of higher education
Specialty 133 – industrial engineering according to the educational program:

The department has a modern educational-laboratory and scientific base, namely:
- specialized classrooms: cars and tractors; construction, track, hoisting and transport machines; machines for earthworks and development of minerals, hydraulic systems and machine drives, automation of production processes and machines
- training laboratory “Nanotechnologies in transport”
- sectorial certified research laboratory “Chemotological”
- sectorial research laboratory “Mechanization and automation of handling and construction works”
- two modern computer classes with implemented CAD / CAM / CAE systems
- laboratory pavilion with samples of equipment and test equipment
Graduates of the department are specialists in the following relevant fields:
- design, production and technical service of construction, road, track (railway) machines; machines for extraction, processing and transportation of minerals
- testing, certification, attestation of machine-building oil products
- organization of fuel and lubricants production enterprises
The department maintains close ties with many leading industrial enterprises, thus actively promoting the employment of its graduates in enterprises engaged in economic activities in the following types :
