He graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Transport Engineers in 1963, majoring in “Railway Construction”.
Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD) since 1970. He defended his dissertation in the specialized academic council at the Kharkiv Institute of Transport Engineers, specializing in “Construction materials, parts and products”. Dissertation topic “Dielectric properties of hardening cement paste and issues of automatic stabilization of the water content of concrete mixtures.” Scientific supervisor – DSc, Prof. O.P. Mchedlov-Petrosyan.
Doctor of Chemical Sciences (DSc) since 1989. He defended his dissertation in the specialized academic council at the Institute of Colloid Chemistry and Water Chemistry named after A.V. Dumansky Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, majoring in “Colloidal Chemistry”. Dissertation topic “Electroheterogeneous interactions during hardening of cement binders”.
Scientific activity direction:
Development of the theory of hardening, strength and durability of building materials and structures, development of new materials and technologies on this basis.
Active member of the New York Academy of Sciences (1997), full member (academician) of the Transport Academy of Ukraine (1998).
Author:
More than 320 scientific works and educational and methodological developments, including 5 monographs and 8 training manuals, more than 30 copyright certificates and patents, many regulatory documents: technical conditions, technical instructions, rules, instructions for railway transport.
Graduated 3 doctors of technical sciences (DSc) and 15 candidates of technical sciences (PhD).
Awards and diplomas:
Honored Transporter of the Republic of Poland (1999); Honorary Railwayman (2000); “Veteran of Labor” medal (2002).
Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (2008) for the cycle of scientific works “Construction materials of the new generation and technologies of their implementation in construction” (co-authored).
