Igor Martinov

Education:

In 1979 he entered the mechanical faculty of the Kharkov Railways Engineering Institute  named after S.M.Kirov.
After graduating from KREI, he began his career in August 1984 as a foreman of the car assembly department at the Kharkov Car Repair Plant. From 1984 to 1986 he served in the Soviet Army. During 1986-1987 he again worked as a foreman of the car assembly department at the Kharkov Car Repair Plant.
From 1988 to 1991 he studied in full-time graduate school. In 1991 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences.
From February 1991 up toAugust 2009 – assistant, associate professor of department of Wagons.
In 2010 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Wagons since 2011.
Since 2010 he has been the head of the Department of Wagons of the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport (since 2021 the Department of Wagon Engineering and Product Quality).

Active member of the Transport Academy of Ukraine.
The member of Scientific and Technical Council State Enterprise” Ukrainian Scientific Railway Car Building Research Institute”
Expert of National Agency of Higher Education Quality Assurance
Expert of National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine.

 

Scientific activity direction:

The main direction of scientific activity is increasing the reliability of axle boxes of rolling stock.
Under the leadership of prof. Martynova I. E a set of studies on the choice of the optimal design of the axle bearing assembly of freight cars was perfomed.
In general, under his leadership and with his direct participation more than 50 economic contract research works were performed.
Among the customers are Ukrainian railway, PJSC Kryukovsky railway car building work, Kharkov Bearing plant (HARP),Azovmashinvest holding and other manufactural and industrial enterprises.

Author:

Aauthor of  194 scientific and scientific-methodical works. Among them there are two textbooks, a monograph, 6 patents, 8 scientific manuals and lecture notes. Under the guidance of prof. Martynova I.E. 5 candidate dissertations were defended.

Awards and diplomas:

For a significant personal contribution to the implementation of the Program to reduceexcessive wear of wheels and rails Martynov I.E. in 2006 was awarded the Diploma of the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine.
For fruitful work and significant contribution to the work on training of railway transport specialists and their professional development Martynov I.E. in 2010 was awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine.
