Research Work

The Department of Management and Administration conducts research at the request of the Southern and Donetsk Railways, Ukrzaliznytsia, and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The following topics were investigated as per the request of Ukrzaliznytsia and its structural subdivisions:

 

  1. DR 0107U000345 Transformation of property relations in railway transport in the context of reforming the industry.
  2. DR 0108U007787 Research of existing systems of technological wire and radio communication and feasibility study of their modernization for high-speed conditions.
  3. DR 0111U007222 Development of a methodology for determining the fee for the provision of schedule by the Donetsk Railway to the companies-operators of transportation.
  4. DR 0111U006240 Development of methods for calculating the cost of transportation of goods by the method of unit settlement rates.
  5. DR 0111U009114 Definition and substantiation of reduction of operating costs due to introduction of new technologies of service of the telecommunication equipment.
  6. DR 0111U007222 Development of a methodology for determining the fee for the provision of schedule by Donetsk Railway threads to transportation operators.

 

Research findings provided a foundation for textbooks, manuals, and monographs.

Palamarchuk I.V., Basova D.V., Sementsova O.V., Vasyliev O.L., Neskuba T.V., Bozhok A.R., and Rebrova A.Yu. contributed to the research findings. Within the framework of the European international program Tempus, the department has prepared a package of scientific and methodological documents for the master’s level of engineering faculties in the Personnel Management module for high-speed railway specialists in Ukraine (Mie GVF).

Another Tempus topic is studied along with Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia) and Odesa Maritime University: Engineering education updating to meet the needs of the global knowledge economy, number 543911- TEMPUS -1-2013-1 -ES-TEMPUS-JPCR.

In the context of the current economic situation in the country and the transformation processes in railway transport, the department plans to prepare the following research:

  1. Public administration in the framework of reforming Ukrzaliznytsia
  2. Logistics in terms of interaction and formation of border crossings with EU countries
  3. Marketing and logistics in the system of Ukrainian railway transportation.
  4. Coordination of logistics approaches in the management of the transport complex.
  5. Management of recreational and tourist business in the current conditions.
  6. International business management in the conditions of transformation of the Ukrainian economy.
  7. Personnel management of transport enterprises.

 

The department actively cooperates with scientific journals “Vahonnyi park” (Kharkiv), “Ukrainska zaliznytsia” (Dnipro), and “Zaliznychnyi transport” (Kyiv), where the results of scientific research by our teachers are published.

 

The staff of the Department of Management and Administration has published over 10 textbooks and manuals, 20 monographs, 160 articles in professional journals, and made more than 150 reports at international conferences, where over 150 abstracts were published. Furthermore, the department supports students in research activities. In particular, the members of the scientific student community of the department are involved in ensuring the consistency and relevance of research papers.

 

The research degree program is supervised by O.G. Deineka, Doctor of Economics, Professor; O.V. Dykan, Doctor of Economics, Professor; O.V. Gromova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.
