EDUCATIONAL AND METHODICAL WORKFollowing the modern conditions of the competitive environment, future marketers need to develop practical skills through the introduction of modern teaching methods. The principle of a systematic approach to activating the creative potential of students and teachers is a guideline for the educational and methodological work of the department.

The teaching staff of the department uses various methods and forms of teaching and learning to activate students and awareness of the necessary professional knowledge. Thus, the acquirement of theoretical material is conditioned by listening to lectures: introductory, thematic, workshops, debates, etc. The use of training equipment (multimedia projectors) helps demonstrate the latest trends in marketing practices in the world.

In practical classes, teachers use the latest teaching methods, such as dialogue, training, business games, conferences, etc. The development of professional skills is due to the use of interactive techniques, such as case studies, role-playing games, “brainstorming”, etc., which reflect a reality close to real conditions.

The main disciplines of the department are taught in Ukrainian and English.

Experts-practitioners of railway transport are involved in the educational process. The department has branches in the railway station Kharkіv-Pasazhyrsky, in the insurance company, and in the advertising agency, where students can gain practical skills in the marketing of insurance and advertising services

The methodological support of the department is constantly improved following the established requirements for quality education and control of students’ knowledge. The educational and methodological work results of the department are published at conferences of various levels.

The teachers of the department constantly improve their pedagogical qualifications, taking advanced training courses in universities of the European Union and Ukraine.

During the last five years the lecturers of the department have published 2 books, 10 lecture notes and 9 methodical materials for practical classes. All texts of lectures are presented on paper and electronic media in multimedia form.

The purpose of the lecture notes is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the formation of the operating costs of rail transport and the cost of freight and passenger rail transportation. It can be used by students of specialty 075 “Marketing”.

The purpose of the textbook is to combine the concept of the advertising business with consumer behavior models and assessing the effectiveness of the results of an advertising campaign, and predicting the effectiveness of promotional activities too. This textbook examines advertising management in the context of marketing and the overall strategy of the advertiser.

A.O. Dergousova Marketing in banks: lecture notes – Kharkiv: UkrDAZT, 2012.

This synopsis of the lecture reveals the problems of marketing about the activities of banking institutions. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of the banking products management. The material on the features of banking marketing is systematized and comprehensively provided.

This synopsis of lecture notes offers information on the basics of the marketing pricing process; the essence and content of prices in marketing as an aspect of entrepreneurial activity in a competitive environment. It also forms the skills of developing and making management decisions to set prices for the company’s products.

The purpose of the synopsis of lecture notes is to develop students’ modern economic thinking and a system of special knowledge in the field of investment management and appropriate the necessary practical skills to effectively carry out this activity at the enterprise. It can be used as a theoretical source during the writing of the relevant section of the dissertation for students of specialty 075 “Marketing” all forms of learning.

In practice, the marketing of transport services is a system of various types of market activities for the development of new services, their production and sales. It aims to make a profit by adapting all aspects of the railways to the needs of customers.
