The subject of the thesis was “Problems of development of scientific bases of formation of virtual management systems of operation, service and repair of locomotives”. His research advisor was D.Sc. (Tech), Professor E. Tartakovskii.

Scope of scientific interests: improvement of methods of technical operation of traction rolling stock of railways and subways.

Author of 10 training manuals with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science, 1 monograph and more than 130 scientific papers, including 4 patents of Ukraine, successfully manages the scientific work of graduate students.

Doctor of Engineering Science since 2006. He defended his doctoral thesis at the specialized scientific board D 64.820.04 in specialties 05.22.07 – rolling stock and train traction and 05.22.20 – operation and repair of vehicles.

Scope of scientific interests: application of electronic components in locomotive control; improvement and creation of diagnostic tools, test equipment and means of admission control; processes in human-machine systems.

Author of over 70 scientific papers and educational and methodological developments. He has two patents and a copyright certificate.

Scope of scientific interests: energy saving technologies and heat engineering modernization of locomotives; extending the shelf life of consumables.

Author of more than 150 scientific papers. In the framework of educational and methodical work 157 scientific-methodical and educational-methodical developments were published and prepared for publication, 14 of them were educational-methodical, including 4 monographs, 1 textbook, 12 patents for inventions and utility models.

His research advisor was D.Sc. (Tech), Professor E. Tartakovskii.

Scope of scientific interests: locomotive maintenance system in case of extension of service life beyond the standard, scientific substantiation of locomotive maintenance technology, assessment of the impact on the reliability of locomotive load-bearing structures of their properties, operational factors and loads.

Author of over 90 scientific papers and educational and methodological developments and 4 copyright certificates for inventions and patents.

Denis Zhalkin

Doctor of Engineering Science since 2012. He defended his doctoral thesis at the specialized scientific board D 64.820.04 in specialty 05.22.07 – rolling stock and train traction.

Scope of scientific interests: seasonal regulation of diesel locomotives, diagnosing the technical condition, modeling the impact of seasonal factors on the processes of operation and repair of locomotives, optimizing the volume and frequency of work in the operation of locomotives in different seasons.

Author of more than 90 scientific papers. In the framework of educational and methodical work of Professor Zhalkin DS 98 scientific-methodical and educational-methodical developments were published and prepared for publication, 19 of them were educational-methodical.

Scope of scientific interests: improving strategies for maintenance and repair of traction rolling stock. Development of methods for evaluating locomotive repair industries. Development of automated test equipment for locomotive repair industries.

Author of 75 publications, including 68 scientific, 1 patent and 6 educational and methodological.
