The Department of Transport Systems and Logistics was established in 2011 at the Faculty of Transportation Process Management. The first to head the department was Dr. Tech. Sciences, Professor Alyoshinsky Eugene Semenovich, and since 2016 – Dr. Tech. Sciences, Professor Lomotko Denis. The staff of the department has published about 550 scientific articles, created more than 40 abstracts of lectures and methodological developments, received 9 patents.
Until 2025, the department conducted training in the specialty 275 – Transport Technologies (in railway transport). After the adoption of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Amendments to the List of Fields of Knowledge and Specialties in Which Applicants for Higher and Professional Pre-Higher Education are Trained” dated April 29, 2015 No. 266 (as amended by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated August 30, 2024 No. 1021 with amendments With amendments and additions made by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 21, 2025 No. 188), the successor of this specialty became the specialty J7 – Railway Transport of the branch J – Transport and Services. This specialty, according to the detailed branch of the International Standard Classification of Education ISCED-F 2013, is called 1041 Transport services.
The direction of educational activity of the Department of Transport Systems and Logistics: training of bachelors, masters and doctors of philosophy in full-time and part-time (distance) forms of education. Training is carried out in the specialty J7 – Railway Transport.
